A typical/atypical morning in the Allen household

Typical: girls in our bed in the morning
Atypical: Makena actually staying this still in order to take a picture.  She is normally trying to launch herself head first off the bed.

Noa snapped this pic after I had left for work.  They are watching a show together, and obviously, they are both thumb-suckers.

In other news, Nanea told me today that she is too old for Elmo.  She hasn't watched Elmo in a year or so, but she was talking about going to Mickey's castle (Disneyland) and having lunch with him and Cinderella, so I mentioned going to have breakfast with Elmo (at Sea World), to which she didn't respond.  I said, "are you too old for Elmo?" and she said, "yes."  I then asked about Cookie and Happy and Burt and Ernie.  She then replied, "Well, I'd like to see Happy.
I want to give her a hug!"  To those of you that follow Sesame Street these days, Happy is actually Zoe.  Nanea has always called her "Happy" since she could talk.  It is because on one show, Zoe jumps up and down saying "happy, happy, happy, happy, happy," for 5 minutes, so Nanea has always called her that.  We thought it was so cute, we never corrected her, and I hope she never figures it out.

the sweetest ever-- those girls are too cute. and the happy story is one of my faves. given that zoe wasn't a character when we were little, i knew her as "Happy" from nea before knowing her "real" name. so she'll always be happy to me. :) it's also so apropos for nea who was one of the happiest babies i know! (well, at least when i got to see her! or maybe that was me projecting!)

SO precious! Like 2 peas in a pod..We love you! Aunty Sonia & Uncle Liko
