Last day of School
Nanea had a great first year of school at The Children's House. She really thrived there, and every day we were amazed at the things she learned, and the projects she would make. She can write her name, recognize letters and numbers, and has begun the foundation for reading by sounding out words/letters and even some basic addition and subtraction. All in preschool! She loved all of her teachers, and always looked forward to going to see them and her friends. All 48 of them in her class!
with lead teacher, Mrs. Kawamoto
with Mrs. Ventula
with Mrs. Rodrigues and Mrs. Quemado
with her "girlfriend" and "boyfriend," Cory and Ayston. Best Friends
Mini bouquets for the teachers that we made. Nanea's school does not allow gifts to be given to the teachers, for any occasion, Christmas, Birthdays, etc. They say that the only "acceptable" thing that can be given are lei. I agonized over what I could do to say a simple thank you, without giving leis. After all, if that was the only thing allowed, they would have tons, and not be able to wear them all. So, I figured that leis are made from flowers, so why not? A little stretch, but not too far off.
