The short end of the stick...

I am almost embarrassed to admit this, but my "puppy" got shafted yesterday. He turned 4 years old with nary a mention, or notice for that matter. In fact, I didn't even remember until looking at my calendar this morning and seeing "Nalu's Birthday" dutifully written down.
Now, we're not one of those crazy dog owners - no offense to those of you that do this - that gets a cake, blows out candles, etc., but he at least gets an emphatic "Happy Birthday!" a few times that day and a special treat and new toy. This is probably why he looked like this most of the day. In fact, we were hardly home yesterday, further adding to his shaft-ed-ness, since the weekends are pretty much the only time we get to spend with him.
SO, I have to give out big shout out on my blog to try to curb my guilt (can you HAVE more guilt from your dog??!?!) - HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY! You'll get a special treat with dinner and a new rawhide tonight. And, maybe even that long-awaited walk we've been promising you for a week now, though no promises since it is hard being dragged along by an 85 lb. creature while pushing a jogging stroller...WE STILL LOVE YOU NALU!
