The pre-school race has begun!
I don't know how it is any where else, but getting into private school in Hawaii is EXTREMELY competitive. This includes preschool. I have heard that some schools have waiting lists from birth. Insane! So, we went to a parent open house at our first choice school this week. No kids allowed. They gave a presentation about the school, and then a tour of the preschool (they go through 6th grade). Afterwards we had to fill out a form indicating whether or not we were still interested (we were). During the tour all the other parents were asking each other where else they had applied, and discussing their interrogations -oops- interviews and such. Interviews?? For preschool? I told Noa later that evening that I felt a but inadequate because we had not applied to any other schools yet, and in fact weren't going to until we found out if Nanea gets in to this one. So, they said that we would be notified within 2 weeks if Nanea has been accepted. Cross your fingers for us!
